Karyn Welsh (Institute Co-Director)
Karyn is a international expert in e-Marketplaces, Portals and e-Business. Karyn has been acting General Manager to Australia’s first e-Marketplace CorProcure, and has been an international keynote speaker in e-business and purchasing technologies and strategies. Karyn has 25 years in commercial and account management and business development. Her specialization in Information Technology Information Business systems allow her to both lecture and tutor these topics at Masters level at the University of Melbourne. Karyn has published at the international level. Karyn holds an MBA (E-Commerce and a Graduate Certificate from the University of Ballarat).



Associate Professor Kim Hassall (Institute Co-Director)
Kim is a freight and logistics consultant who has had a background working with some of the world’s largest freight companies. His expertise is in restructuring Logistics networks and logistics pricing. He has published some 70 papers and articles. Kim has co-chaired OECD seminars and been seconded at various times to various governmental task forces and committees. Kim is a mathematician and has worked at the national level as a transport economist and manager of transport operations and strategy. Kim holds a Bachelor of Arts ( Mathematical Sciences), Graduate Diploma (Computing), Certificate of Logistics Management, and Masters of Business (Research). In 2002 Kim became a fraction Industry appointment at the University of Melbourne to the Freight and Logistics Group.


 


Dr Annette Barbetti (Institute Associate)
Annette is an international expert in Economic input-output analysis and is an international expert in regional economics and regional economic development. Annette headed the global statistics division of the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) and prior that the Input-Output division. Annette has been called upon to consult on the flow on impacts of logistics to other industry sectors, as well as designing specialist surveys for examining the impacts of government policies in specialist sectors. Annette has a BSc and a PhD (University of Western Australia).



Peter Sluyter (Institute Associate)
Peter is a Logistic Systems Analyst for largest network logistics company in Australia. Peter has a 30 year background in the industry and holds extensive expertise in network restructuring and network strategy. Peter is working with a range of optimization software solutions to achieve significant supply chain benefits across multi-modal problems. Peter holds a Diploma in Logistics, Diploma in Frontline Management, and Certificate IV competency for Assessment and Training.




Dr. Fang Zhao (Institute Associate)
Dr Fang Zhao is currently an Associate Professor of Management at the School of Business & Management, American University of Sharjah in the UAE. Dr Zhao has done extensive research into e-business management areas. She is the founding Editor-in-Chief of an international refereed journal: International Journal of e-Business Management (ISSN: 1835-5412) at http://www.rmitpublishing.com.au/ijebm.html.


She has authored/edited and published 3 research-based books in the past two years: Maximize Business Profits through E-partnerships, Information Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Innovation in E-business: An Integrative Perspective. Dr Zhao has provided consulting services to Siemens (Australia) in managing technology innovations and the Department of Justice of Victoria government in knowledge management strategy.



Dr. Mingyao Qi
Dr. Qi is an associate professor in Research Center on Modern Logistics, Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua university, China. Dr. Qi got his PhD from Institute of Geographic Science and Natural Resource Research, Chinese Academy of Science in 2004, now his research interest covers from logistics informatization, vehicle routing problem, to Space-time analysis on logistics applications,   and so on. Dr. Qi is now the stakeholder of a NSFC (National Natural Science Fund of China) project and a National Key Technology R&D Program project. Dr. Qi has extensive experience on logistics information integration and sharing, logistics tracking and transportation optimization..
